2. Edit an MS Excel spreadsheet template named autoplay.csv by associating a video, slideshow, etc. with a state or action such as a button press to add interactivity. Click here to view an example.
3. Copy the autoplay.csv file to the flash card.
4. Insert the flash memory card into your BrightSign and power it up.

Fully Customized Scripts with BrightScript

Roku BrightScript is a scripting language designed specifically for digital signage and kiosks.  It makes creating control logic for interactive applications easy by employing concepts similar to VBScript or JavaScript, which are familiar to developers.  BrightScript works with Roku’s object library for complete run-time control of BrightSign including video and audio outputs, input sources such as keyboards, buttons, touch screens and much more. Simply put a file on your flash memory card named “autoplay.bas” to have a complete custom script autorun on boot.

  • Scripts automatically run from flash card on boot up
  • Supports timers, wait events, audio controls and video modes including scaling
  • Synchronize events to video frames
  • Test external button state
  • Read from flash memory cards
  • Volume and mute settings
  • Play video files and scale to output resolution
  • Turn on and off any audio output individually
  • Switch audio output to any audio output jacks
  • Display images
